Aside from offering a tailored range of the freshest, finest, and locally sourced wines and ingredients, we create environments that offer the perfect balance between festivity and tranquillity.
With conservation, sustainability, family, and community as the cornerstones of our identity, PLTFRM invests in preserving its environs and empowering its staff. We go the extra mile to ensure that our guests are treated to only the best food and service.
What does the name PLTFRM mean?
Many of our guests ask about the origins of our interesting name. As a business, PLTFRM is committed to using our country’s rich heritage, specifically around architecture, to responsibly upgrade and tastefully modernise comfortable, convenient leisure experiences for our clients and their families, across all our outlets.
The very first PLTFRM was founded at Pretoria’s Station in 2014 – literally on the platform next to the train tracks, in an iconic building designed by Sir Herbert Baker.
The interlinking effect of the lines inspired the design of our name and logo. Not just that, but also the fact that stations are nostalgically thought of as meeting places; a place of arrivals, connections, coming and going, departures… The associated notions of travelling and journeys, movement, exploration, adventures, novel discoveries, sacred treasures and keepsakes – all of these perched against the backdrop of family and familiarity – make up PLTFRM’s inimitable DNA.
The Jonkershuis at Plaisir, which dates back to 1821 (and proud home of PLTFRM-Restaurant), is a prime example of how we merge influences from different eras and cultures into a multi-faceted, rejuvenating experience that immersively stretches way beyond just cuisine.

The Food Market
– at Plaisir-
For freshly baked breads, breakfast, burgers, pizzette, salads, sandwiches, and delectable kiddies’ meals, look no further than the Food Market at Plaisir. You’ll find us right next to Wine Tasting, and in typically casual market style, we invite to come inside and place your order, pay at one of the convenient pay points, find a seat outside, and put your feet up.
For those exhausted from traversing the great outdoors, we’ll have an icy cold beverage of your choice ready – and needless to say, coffees, juices, shakes and smoothies available all day too. Make you sure you get some biltong, nuts, fudge, cookies, and chocolate to take home with you.

If you see our new PLTFRM-branded mini-bus moving about on the farm and in the valley, you’ll know it’s the van that can! A complimentary value-added service to our guests. Let us get you back home safely, conveniently, and comfortably.

- From 22 November, the shuttle will be transporting visitors to Plaisir and PLTFRM on the farm, between 08h00 to 16h00.
- Route 1: From 08 December, the shuttle will also be doing trips between Plaisir, Val de Vie, Paarl (Central), and Pearl Valley, between 16h00 to 22h00.
